KUBETI SPONSORS THE WORLD DEBATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Debaters from all over the world argue that kube is the ideal form at the annual youth forum of the International Debate Education Association (IDEA).

250 high school students from 36 countries took part in this year's IDEA forum that was held from July 24 till August 5 in the town of Smolyan, Bulgaria. The purpose of the event is not only developing rhetorical skills but also stimulating intercultural and social exchange. The combination of tournaments and training sessions creates a healthy balance between the competitive and educational aspects of the initiative.

Debating helps students develop research and analysis abilities, constructive argumentation and active listening skills, critical thinking, to mention but a few. The forum contributes to forming young people as future leaders and active citizens of the world through giving them the opportunity to research and discuss topical global issues. Teaching tolerance to others' opinions and to differences in general is, however, the greatest benefit of all.

The international youth forum is world's largest academic event in the field of debating and public speaking. It is held on an annual basis in a country elected by IDEA. Bulgaria was elected to host the fifteenth edition of the forum. The grand final of the debate championship took place in the Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv. The event was patronized by Mr. Georgi Parvanov, President of the Republic of Bulgaria.

One of the debate topics at the forum was "Kube is the ideal form". While debating heatedly the participants could enjoy their favourite Kubeti flavours. Apart from providing unlimited amounts of tasty rye-wheat cubes, Kubeti presented a special award: "Outside the Kube Debating". It went to the most attractive and non-standard debater.
